David and Debbie Bales are transferring their memberships from churches in Illinois. David was raised in Chicago. He is retired as an auditor from Forensic Accounting. The highlights of his life are his marriage, three children and being a business owner of two companies. He is a collector of Lionel model trains and enjoys family history. He also enjoys the theatre, music and their retirement community events. Debbie was raised in Lincolnwood, Illinios. She is retired from real estate sales and enjoys spending time with their two grandchildren. The highlights of her life are a marriage of 51 years, volunteer work in the children’s school district and organizing all her high school reunions. She enjoys theater, singing, reading and volunteering in their retirement community.

Ben and Roslie Fought are transferring their membership from The Presbyterian Church of Toms River, New Jersey.  Ben grew up in Akron, Ohio with four sisters; he is retired from AT&T Bell Laboratories.  He enjoys golf, bridge, reading, gardening and walking for exercise.  Rosalie was born in Germany and came to the U.S. when she was ten years old.  She worked as the family manager in raising their two sons.  She enjoys tennis, bridge, reading, arts, crafts and volunteering at church.  Their highlights have been the traveled memories of Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan and The Caribbean Islands and spending as much time as possible with their two sons and five grandchildren.

Betty Jorgensen is re-affirming her faith. Betty graduated from the University of Colorado and retired from teaching first to third grade at Montessori Schools. She lived in California where she raised her three children and moved to Arizona in 1978. The highlights of her life have been her marriage and traveling to Alaska, Europe and the Northeast to view the seasonal fall colors. She enjoys oil painting, playing Bridge and Mah Jongg.

John McCarthy is transferring his membership from Crossroads Community Church. John was raised in Buffalo, New York, and he graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering from Southern Methodist University and an MBA from the University of Chicago. He is a business owner and currently operates Muffler Dealers in Gilbert. He has two grandchildren that are the highlight of his life. John’s interests and hobbies are the stock market, exercising, cruises and snorkeling.

Patty Newcomer is re-affirming her faith. Patty was raised in Wray, Colorado. She married an Air Force pilot and lived all over the country. In 1960, they moved to Williams Air Force Base where Arizona became home. She has four children, 11 grandchildren and seven great- grandchildren. She enjoys oil painting and has won the contest to be on the cover of the Gilbert phone book twice, with her paintings.
