Tom and Babs Lester are transferring their membership from Dayspring United Methodist Church in Tempe. Tom is from Durant, Oklahoma and attended the University of Oklahoma. He is retired from real estate consulting. He has served on a number of committees: Illinois Hospital Advisory Board and State Representative Advocacy, Jaycees International Senator and Director, United Methodist Men’s President and Covenant Council President. He enjoys golf and history. Babs grew up in Ripon, Wisconsin and attended the University of Illinois. She was a cheerleader in high school and college. Babs retired from an award winning real estate sales career. She has been involved as a volunteer with the Stephen Ministries, YMCA Senior Driver, Desert Botanical Garden’s Docent and sang with the Chorale. She enjoys gardening, pickleball and sewing. Together, she and Tom have four children, eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Gary and Bobbi Pryor are transferring their membership from Chandler Heights United Methodist Church. Gary was born and raised in San Fernando Valley, California. He is retired from the US Navy Submarine Service, and as a high school teacher. Gary has volunteered extensively – a few of the programs have included: hospice, Pima County Victim Services as a crisis worker and court advocate, Mobile Missionary Assistance Program, SOWER Ministries, Stephen Ministries and as a Northwest Fire Crisis Worker. He enjoys reading and listening to music. Bobbi was born and raised in Southern California. She is retired from nursing and as a prep cook. Her highlights are their three children, seven grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Bobbi says Gary has been the love of her life for 65 years. She enjoys crafting and making greeting cards.
Nancy Schofield is transferring her membership from Scottsdale Christian Church. Nancy is retired from the Phoenix Police Department where she worked as a Police Dispatcher, 9-1-1 Operator and Trainer for forty-two years. Her highlights are her marriage to Ron, being a mother of six children and nine grandchildren. She has traveled to 46 countries and enjoyed meeting people in many cultures. Her hobbies and interests include: bridge, quilting, reading, crocheting, swimming, gardening, cooking, international travel, foreign exchange students, bible study, UMW and the senior center.
