
"SLUMCCC"
General:
SLUMCCC, is a "Hands-On" computer club currently in
its 10th year. Two classes were offered*
1) "Beginners Class" - normally held December - March for beginners
with PC compatible computer configurations. The class motto: "We go no
faster than the slowest participant". The excellent "Computer Friendly"
text book is purchased by each participant and is followed page -by-page. The
participants perform"hands-on"
operations of the illustrated features. At the
course completion participants are familiar with the "Windows" environment,
basic Internet and Email operations, and a variety of related functions. Over
500 attended the initial six classes.
2) "Advanced Computer Class" - was initially held July-August 2003 and repeated the following summer.
The class is now offered concurrently with the yearly Beginners classes. The class is intended for "graduates" of the "Beginners Class".
Applications of Microsoft Office (Word-Excel-PowerPoint), M/S Publisher, M/S
Works, and picture processing software programs are illustrated . Subsequent
courses will be scheduled at a later date.

NOTE: As of 2009-2010 we are meeting in Room 4 of the new Education Building. Only a combined Beginners/Advanced class is offored. All students must bring their own Lap Top.
