Sun Lakes United Methodist Church has an active Health and Wellness ministry.
The Christian perspective of health includes our whole lives. Health of body, mind and spirit is viewed as a gift to nurture and to employ. Good health gives us the the energy and vitality to serve and love others, and thus good health is seen in the context of that purpose.
Sun Lakes UMC Health Committee is made up of volunteers who are concerned about health, and who are committed to seeing that the healing ministry of the Church is carried out.
The Faith Community Nurse sponsors health related activities, such as blood pressure clinics, CPR classes, hearing screening, and programs with speakers providing opportunities to listen and learn about various health conditions.
The Faith Community Nurse has a vast array of medical pamphlets on health related subjects, as well as many resources on elder care and housing. She also coordinates visits to members of the congregation who are in need of medical attention.
