Here are a few areas where you could be involved:
The Welcome Table
Volunteers staff the Welcome Table each Sunday morning. Church guests are given a welcome packet containing relevant printed material about Sun Lakes UMC. Visitors are asked to sign the Welcome Book and to wear a name tag that they might be recognized and welcomed as visitors.
Worship Service Greeters
Vounteer greeters stand at the entry doors of the Sanctuary and welcome all who come to worship services on Sunday. A smile, a handshake, and words of welcome relay that we are glad they came to worship with us.
We are always in need of ushers for our worship services on Sundays. If you have a friendly personality and enjoy helping people, then this is the place for you to volunteer. For more information please click on the Usher tab located under Ministries.
Audio Visual Booth
The audio/visual booth is an important part of our worship service. Booth personel are responsible for setting up and checking all microphones and video equipment before worship service in the Sanctuary each Sunday morning. This includes selecting and testing any microphone that will be used, ensuring the lighting settings for the various parts of the service are correct, and testing the camera and DVD recorder. Volunteers willing to be trained are always welcomed! Another area of importance along with the audio visual requirements run by volunteers includes the Powerpoint Display for each service in the Sanctuary.
This volunteer group was formed in 1990 as “Sunshine Ladies” to provide meals for the sick, and a time of fellowship for those who had lost a loved one. Today “Sunshine Friends” is a group of women and men who volunteer to plan and serve receptions following memorial services at the Church. Cookies donated by friends and bakers in the Church along with drinks, are served in Lindsay Hall. The group is available to help Church families in any way possible by making a difficult time just a little easier to get through. “Sunshine Friends” always welcomes volunteers!
