Sun Lakes United Methodist Church Music Ministry
15 years under the direction of Cris Evans, Music Director.
Much of what we think about God comes from the music we hear and sing. The texts of our music come from various sources (scriptures, sacred poetry and prose, or formal liturgy).
Singing during Sunday worship services, the choir prepares special music for Veteran’s Day, Christmas Eve, Good Friday, Palm Sunday and Easter to share with the congregation and the community. The choir prepares a larger choral work with an instrumental ensemble each year for Christmas.
All that is needed to be a choir member is a pleasant singing voice, and the commitment to attend rehearsals on a regular basis.
We also have a Handbell Choir! The “Sun Bells” to ply in church each month. We are always looking for additional ringers and subs. Experience is not necessary, but it is helpful if you can read music.
